In the back-end of Templafy a tag is a variable used to connect data with templates based on the user choices.
Tags are combined in strings of either two or three tags depending on the complexity of the connection.
Tag strings are used to connect user choices (either in profiles/forms) to insertion of data in documents (images, color themes).
A tag string could point to a specific cell in a data source or a specific file name.
Examples of tag strings
A tag strings always starts with either "Profile" or "Document" or "System"
%Profile% indicating that data comes from the user profile.
%Document% indicating that data comes from a form assigned to the document.
A user specifies via the user profile that he/she works in department A, which has a different logo than the rest of the company.
The Office Data source also includes the different logo file names:
In the 'Company logos' folder, a set of logos are uploaded:
In the 'insert image' plugin, the file string will then look like this:
The file name refers to:
Profile=The choice is made in the profile (User works in Departmen A)
OFFiCE=Data source selection ID, that specifies that the info comes from the Office datasource
Logo=The Column in which the given file name, corresponding to profile choice is placed (LogoA.png)
