Updater is a functionality within Dynamic documents in Library that allows for dynamic content updates to documents. This article will explain how to enable the functionality through the Dynamics Designer and how to update documents dynamically based on two different examples of updated input in the document.

How to enable Updater?
- Open Word
- Start your template creation flow
- From the Templafy task pane you can go to the ellipsis menu on the right corner, visualized with three dots
- Click on the Dynamics Designer
- Toggle the switch that says
Enable Document Content Updater
- Click Back to the app, which leads you back to your libraries
- Now you will see the
Update Document
button next to the ellipsis menu
Updating a document
- Click the
Update Document
button - Based on the dynamic configurations set up on the selected document you get prompted with various fields or options to update.
- Example: a required dropdown where you select the Document Classification and update it to Confidential instead of the choice you made upon creating the document in the first place. This will update the legal disclaimer in the document, because the legal disclaimer has been dynamically configured.
- Example: Select a different User profile with a different office location will update the address etc. in the document in the header, because of the dynamic configuration added.
