About this article
Templates can be populated with static and dynamic content, and this article will explain how to distinguish between the two.
What is static content?
Static content is not processed by Templafy in any way and will be inserted into documents or presentations without any modification or end-user customization. Static content is not linked to any dynamic configurations or forms done by an admin.
In other words, static content will be downloaded or created by an user exactly in the format it was uploaded in, by an admin.
What is dynamic content?
Dynamic templates will enable users to create documents dynamically by answering gating questions or inputting information in a form prior to creating the document.
Dynamic content is processed by Templafy and will be modified when end-users download or create a dynamic template. The modifications are linked to the choices, the end-user make, which will populate the document with information based on the end-user choice.
Dynamic templates require dynamic configurations and can be linked to a form, which will be presented to the end-user upon creation or download of a dynamic template. Dynamic content can also be inserted based on data coming from a User Profile selection.
Examples of dynamic content
- Address information
- Data from a user profile
- Data from a document form
- Translation and languages
- Color themes
