Issue description
Currently, there appears to be a bug with Webview2 , which causes Office to freeze if it is opened on, or if the Office Window is moved to a monitor that is set to a different DPI Scale than the primary monitor. This issue is not exclusive to multiple monitors and may also be experienced with with using a single monitor or just a laptop screen. In all cases, please try the steps below.
Office User Interface Options in all Office applications (Required)
Switch to Optimize for compatibility in Microsoft Office applications. The below steps should be carried out for each Microsoft Office application used.
1. Open a Office application.
2. Navigate to Options.
3. In the General tab, under User Interface options, select the option "Optimize for compatibility".
4. Click "OK".
The above solution can also be applied by adding the below Registry Entry via GPO: https://download.templafy.com/HKCU_OfficeOptionCompatabilityView.reg
Setting the DPI scale in the case of single or multiple monitor use (Optional)
Ensure all monitors are set to the same DPI Scale. To change this go to:
- The Windows Display settings
-
Once the scale has been changed on the Primary monitor, ensure that it is matching on subsequent monitors, as well (Step 3 in the picture). If only one monitor is being used, set it to 100% (Recommended) from the dropdown.
