How to enable or disable 'Open task pane automatically'

This article explains how to enable or disable the setting Open task pane automatically. The example given in this article is from Word, but can be applied in PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook too. This is for Office applications installed on a PC.

  Prerequisites

  • End-user access to Templafy in Office.
  • Templafy add-in installed (PC only).

The setting Open task pane automatically means that you can enable or disable if the Templafy task pane should open automatically when you open e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel or Outlook on your PC.

This setting is enabled by default, but can be disabled by following below steps:

  1. Open an Office application on your PC, e.g. Word.
  2. Navigate to the Templafy task pane opening on your right-hand side.
  3. Click on the ellipsis menu and select Settings:

  4. Enable or disable the setting by ticking or unticking the box:

  5. Click Close.

  Important

  • Please note, that this setting only applies to the Office application you're changing this in, so you would need to apply the setting in all Office applications, if you wish for this change to be global to all Office applications.
  • This setting only appears in the Library add-in installed on your PC, not the web add-in in Office Online.
