Accessibility at Templafy

Templafy’s next-gen document generation platform enables professionals to create high-performing documents, faster. We are committed to building an inclusive and accessible ecosystem that ensures usability for all employees.
Templafy supports and stands by the international accessibility standards set by governments and public institutions. We strive for compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA and follow the Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) 1.1 as well as the ARIA Authoring Practices Guide (APG) recommendations across our user flows.

Our Accessibility Approach

To foster inclusivity, accessibility is embedded in the foundation of our platform, beginning with design and implementation. Below are our key focus areas:

An Accessible Foundation

A comprehensive design system featuring accessible components and guidelines, ensuring out-of-the-box accessibility for common patterns while promoting best practices.

Iterative Accessibility Audits & Reporting

  • Systematic identification, documentation, and resolution of accessibility issues, assigned to dedicated teams with progress tracking and validation.
  • Creation of in-house Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR) to assess the current state of our user flows.
  • Our latest ACR reports are available upon request at accessibility@templafy.com.

Accessibility in Quality Assurance

  • Automated accessibility testing at both the component and end-to-end experience levels.

  • Manual accessibility testing with assistive technologies such as JAWS and NVDA screen readers, including user testing.

Localization & Multilingual Support

  • Support for 11 languages across the Templafy platform.
  • Localized templates with translation data sources and smart fields.

User Flows & Internal Tools

  • Development and maintenance of accessibility best practices for both end-users and admins.
  • Ensuring accessibility within our internal platform administration tools.

Accessibility Culture & Training

  • Internal training for product and engineering teams in designing, building and maintaining an accessible platform.
  • Promotion of accessibility best practices across the organization and among partners.

Current Accessibility Features

Accessible User Flows and Design System

WCAG 2.2 Level AA tag on each component that has been designed, implemented and validated for accessibility with manual and automated tests. Accessibility guidelines are included in the design and implementation documentation.

Perceivable Design

The Design Tokens are designed to match Templafy brand and comply with accessibility rules for contrast, ratios, typography and sizes.

Operable and Robust Interactions

  • Focus management, keyboard navigation and screen reader support.
  • Form components (inputs and supporting elements), dialogues, tabs, image slider, and buttons satisfy both perceivable and operable requirements and can be navigated and interacted with keyboard only and assistive technologies like screen readers.
  • Transitions are simple and new areas in the pages are announced according to guidelines.
  • Focus rings are clearly visible, focus traps and rowing tab indexes are clearly handled.

Understandable & Consistent User Experience

Errors and status of forms are handled as out-of-the-box ensuring all our form experiences follow consistent best practices.

User Flows

  • Templafy Library and Universal AI assistant add-in and Templafy Email Signature add-in experiences are fully accessible to keyboard interaction, screen reader users and have high compliance to WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines.
  • Templafy Admins can define the alternative text for Templafy Library visual assets and import them from external content connectors. Alternative text for visual assets is used to provide our users the ability to choose the right asset in their documents and build more accessible documents.
  • Productivity and Check add-ins are keyboard accessible and have been tested for screen reader usage.
