How to customize Templafy Agent

Use this article to customize how Templafy Agent creates and improves presentation content. The most important configuration areas are presentation layouts, tone of voice, internal knowledge, and the Library content users are allowed to reuse.

  Prerequisites

  • Admin or owner access is required in the Templafy tenant.
  • Universal Agent configuration must be available for shared tone of voice, knowledge, and presentation layout setup.
  • Source material for internal knowledge should be approved and ready to use.
  • Approved presentation layouts and Library content should be prepared before testing.

Use case

Use this article when Templafy Agent should produce output that reflects company messaging, brand rules, approved layouts, and internal knowledge.

Customization makes Templafy Agent more valuable because users get content that is closer to customer-ready on the first attempt. This saves time for teams, reduces manual review, and helps protect brand and compliance standards.

Configure tone of voice

Configure tone of voice centrally so Templafy Agent can write in a style that matches the organization. Keep the guidance concise, specific, and practical.

  • Describe the preferred writing style.
  • Mention what to avoid, such as jargon, overstatement, or informal language.
  • Test the tone with realistic prompts from sales, consulting, customer success, and leadership workflows.

For detailed setup guidance, see Adjusting the Tone of Voice for Document Agents.

Add internal knowledge

Use Universal Agent knowledge functionality to make approved internal context available to Templafy Agent. This can include product positioning, sales messaging, compliance language, RFP guidance, industry facts, or other approved source material.

Use case: users ask Templafy Agent to create or improve slides using company-specific information.

The output becomes more accurate, consistent, and relevant because the agent can use approved internal context instead of relying only on the prompt.

For setup guidance, see Adding a Knowledge Source and Knowledge Sources in Presentation Generation.

Configure presentation layouts

Templafy Agent needs approved layouts to generate new slides. Review layout names, categories, use cases, placeholders, and any elements that should keep existing content.

  • Use clear layout names that match business use cases.
  • Describe when each layout should be used.
  • Review placeholders and maximum text lengths.
  • Use Keep existing content for branded or structural elements that should not be changed.

For detailed setup guidance, see How to Manage Slide Layouts.

Prepare Library content

Templafy Agent can help users find and insert approved Library content when it is available and permissioned for them.

  • Use clear names, descriptions, and tags for slides, slide elements, and images.
  • Make sure users have permission to access the content they should be able to reuse.
  • Remove or archive outdated content so users are not guided toward old material.
  • Use descriptive image metadata so the agent can find suitable visuals.

For image setup guidance, see Optimizing Image Library for Document Agents.

Test customization

After configuration, test realistic prompts before rollout.

  • Ask Templafy Agent to rewrite a slide and check whether the tone is right.
  • Ask for company-specific content and check whether the right knowledge is used.
  • Ask for common slide types and confirm that approved layouts are selected.
  • Ask for approved content and confirm that Library results are useful.

  Tip

Use realistic business scenarios during testing, such as proposal updates, executive summaries, timelines, customer meeting decks, and team bios.
