This article describes how to manage information about the slides that are used by the Document Agent to understand how they should be used during presentation creation.
Prerequisites
|
- Within the Admin Center, navigate to the AI Agents section and click on the Slide layouts tab.
- Uploading a presentation will automatically render every available layout within the deck, showing a preview, name and usage, and number of elements within it.
- Templafy will automatically generate category tags, a name, and use-cases for the slide - all of which can be edited.
- Templafy will also generate placeholders for all text, number, and image elements within a slide, all of which can be edited to change the name, content type, desired formatting (if applicable), and maximum text character count (if applicable).
- Clicking on the placeholder within the preview window will open the element dropdown.
- Clicking on the element dropdown will highlight the placeholder within the preview window.
- Enable Keep existing content when an element should remain unchanged during presentation generation.

When to use keep existing content option
Enable Keep existing content to prevent the Document Agent from modifying a selected element.
When enabled, the agent preserves the element’s existing content, styling, formatting, and visual appearance. The element is skipped during AI generation but remains fully editable for the end user in PowerPoint.
This can be used for text placeholders, detected shapes, images, and icons. It is especially useful for branded or structural elements that should remain consistent, such as a full-bleed cover image and divider that forms part of a presentation theme.
