Troubleshooting: Author of document and comments are removed on document save

This article explains why documents generated from Templafy may have the author removed.

The scenario and setting

• A template is created where the setting Remove personal information from file properties on save is enabled within Privacy Options:

• This template is uploaded to a Templafy Library or as a blank template in the Library configuration section.
• Every time a user generates a document from this template, the setting will still be enabled.
• As a result of this, upon saving the document, the author of the document as well as document comments will be removed:
  
  

Solution

The solution is for the template to be downloaded and for the Remove personal information from file properties on save setting to be disabled followed by re-uploading the template again.
