How to Start a New Prompt Template
Once you have an idea about the prompt, you'd like to make available to users, this can be added to your list of prompt templates.

- In the Templafy admin center, navigate to the AI Assistant tab.
- Click on New prompt template and select Create new template.
- Give your prompt template a name that is easy for your users to identify and understand.
- Add a description that briefly describes what this prompt does.
- Configure the prompt:

Instructions: This is the main text that informs the AI model what to do. Be as descriptive and precise here as possible. Your tone of voice is added by default. To keep this in the prompt, do not delete

, since your actual tone of voice text will replace that placeholder. -
Message: This is the message that will be passed along with the instructions to make up the prompt. Typically, this is the text that a user selects in their active Office Application. In this case, keep the Message as
{{SelectedText}}
. Your users' selected information will replace this placeholder.
Note: If the prompt does not require users to select text, Message can be left blank.

- Click Next and select an icon and color that make this new prompt easily distinguishable. In addition to selecting from the provided icons, you can also upload your own custom icons.
- Click Create prompt template.
- Use the Playground section to test your prompt.
- Click Publish changes and Confirm to publish the new prompt template to your users.

How to Add Dynamic Form Questions to Prompt Templates
Once a new prompt template is created, in addition to editing the text of the instructions, it is possible to improve the flexibility of the prompt template by adding forms. This allows users to specify additional inputs to inform the prompt.
- In the Prompt templates tab, select the prompt you'd like to work on.
- On the right side details pane, select the Form tab, and click Add question.
- Give the question a title and select if the question is required, and click Add question.
- Click on the menu and select Copy reference name.
- Go to the Prompt tab, and add the question reference name in the appropriate place in the instructions, and click Save.
- You can test the new prompt with form question inputs in the Playground by clicking on the Test button.
- Click on Publish changes and Confirm to publish the updated prompt template to your users.
