Templafy Web Add-ins no longer accessible on Mac after Microsoft Office update 16.99

It has been identified that Mac users who update their Microsoft Office version to 16.99 (25071321) will subsequently lose access to Templafy Web Add-ins.

What affected users will see

Upon opening any Microsoft Office application on Mac and clicking on the Templafy Content Library button on the Office Ribbon, users will see the below warning message within the Templafy task pane:

Steps to regain access to the Templafy task pane

Please note that the below steps are required to be carried out in each Microsoft Office application where the Templafy task pane is inaccessible.

  1. Click on the Add-ins button from the Microsoft Office ribbon under the Home tab.
  2. Click on More Add-ins option on the bottom right of the pop out window.
  3. Click on the Admin Managed tab in the Office add-ins pop up window.
  4. Click on the Refresh button on the top right of the Office add-ins pop up window.
  5. Select the Templafy Company Templates icon from the list and click the Add button. Alternatively, double-click the Templafy Company Templates icon. This will add the Templafy buttons back to the Microsoft Office ribbon under the Home tab.
  6. Click on the Templafy Content Library button. You may be prompted to sign in using your email address and password.

Optional steps

While the above steps are known to regain access to Templafy, we would also like to provide optional steps should they be needed. These steps involve clearing of the Microsoft Office cache on Mac and have been documented by Microsoft in this article.

Additional information

Templafy have reported the loss of access via the Templafy task pane to Microsoft and are awaiting further updates. You can read the report here.
