How to add fonts to resources

This article explains how to upload font files to the system generated Fonts data source in Resources in the Admin Center.

  Prerequisites

What is the Fonts data source used for?

The Fonts data source is system generated, and its schema fields cannot be edited. You can however upload font files to the Fonts data source, so they can be used when generating previews of documents or presentations in Library and Engage to ensure that our preview engine is presenting the slides with the correct font rather than web-safe fonts.

Example

Original presentation using a custom font:

Upload to the tenant without the custom font uploaded into the Fonts data source:

How to upload font files to data source items

  1. Navigate to the Resources section in the Admin Center.
  2. Select the system generated data source named Fonts and click Open data source.
  3. Click on Create.
  4. Fill out the Name and Style fields.
  5. Upload a font in the Font field.
  6. Click Create.

  Important

  • The content already uploaded to the Admin Center will need to be reprocessed, replaced, or reuploaded in order for the previews to regenerate and render the custom font.
  • File extensions supported: True Type Font (.TTF) and Open Type Font (.OTF).
