About this article

What is the system generated Languages data source?

The Languages data source is system generated and managed by Templafy. It cannot deleted or edited. Schema fields and creating new data source items manually from the Languages data source will be locked. Any updates to this list of languages in the Languages data source happen automatically after they've been added as a language in the More options settings page under Resources. The newly created language will become available as a row in the data source.

How to add languages for the Languages data source?

  1. Navigate to the Resources section in the Admin Center.

  2. Click More options in the upper right corner.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Add the new language.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Navigate back to the Languages data source in Resources and check that it's updated.

  • It's recommended to always use a language with a 4 letter code like en-US or fr-FR. Languages with 2 letter codes like en or fr are not supported for the proofing language.
  • The page might need a refresh before the newly added languages are shown in the data source.
  • If a language is used with a Reference field in another data source, it cannot be deleted.
  • Languages can be used in User Profiles and Forms, like any other data source.

When a new language is added, it's added not only to the Languages data source, but also to the Translations data source.
