How Offline templates interacts with Dynamics

This article explains how Offline templates interacts with Dynamics. 

  Prerequisites

  • Library module enabled.
  • Offline templates module enabled.
  • At least one Dynamics module enabled.
  • Templafy Desktop 3.4.51 or above.
  • Library VSTO add-in 7.1.79 or above.
  • Space owner access to the Templafy tenant.

When it comes to Dynamics capabilities, the limitations of default template distribution also apply to Offline templates. Offline Templates are not compatible with: 

  • Required form fields and Data Connector form fields.
  • Ticks() and Now() functions.
  • Slide insertion/Text element insertion.

Offline templates does support Dynamics templates where information from User Profiles or data sources can be made available offline on the user's PC storing default values. 

  Note

  • Any edits to the User Profile form or data sources that are used in the Dynamics template will be updated with the next Templafy Desktop update. 
  • If a Dynamics template has the 'Update document' function enabled, users can update the document the next time they are online.
