How to save and share documents from the Library pane

This article explains how user can access all applicable delivery options to save and share business documents from within the Library pane.

  Prerequisites

  • Library module enabled.
  • Available in the library task pane for PC, Office Online and Mac.
  • Delivery options are not supported in the library pane for Google Library.

Options in PC using VSTO add-ins

  1. In Word, PowerPoint, and Excel all users have the option to Save a copy or Save PDF to the desired location and rename their file upon saving.
  2. In PowerPoint, users with Productivity Tools can Save selected slides as .pptx and Save selected slides as PDF.
  3. In Word, PowerPoint, and Excel users with Delivery Connectors enabled have the option to hand over documents to other platforms such as SharePoint via the Save a copy to ... button.
  4. Further, every user can share their document, presentation or spreadsheet via Outlook in the respective file format or as PDF.

  Important

Share options (4) are not currently available when using New Outlook. Using this feature is only available on Classic Outlook. Use PowerPoint's File tab and Share option as a workaround when using New Outlook.

Options in PC, Office Online and Mac using web add-ins

Users with Delivery Connectors enabled, have the option to hand over documents, presentations or spreadsheets to other platforms such as SharePoint, via the Save a copy to... button.

  Important

Save a copy, Save as PDF, Save selected slides and Send via Outlook options are not available using Web Add-ins.
