Align section

This article explains how to use the Align section of the Productivity tools.

Align your shapes (multi-click)

  1. Select the “parent shape” – which is the shape you want the others to align with.
  2. Hold the shift key to select the other shapes.
  3. Click the align left/right, top/bottom, or middle/center button.

Multi-click logic:

  • 1st click: align the selected shapes to the first selected object.
  • 2nd click: align the selected shapes to the workspace.
  • 3rd click: align the selected shapes to the slide.
  • Further clicks will cycle through these steps.

  Note

  • If only one object is selected the multi-click alignment logic will cycle through workspace, slide, and original positions.
  • If there is no workspace defined, it will look for the largest content placeholder of the current slide’s layout.

 Distribute vertically or horizontally your shapes (multi-click)

  1. Select the shapes you would like to distribute.
  2. Click on distribute horizontally or distribute vertically button.

Multi-click logic:

  • 1st click: distribute the selected shapes between them.
  • 2nd click: distribute the selected shapes within the workspace.
  • 3rd click: distribute the selected shapes within the slide.
  • Further clicks will cycle through these steps.

  Note

  • If only one object is selected the multi-click alignment logic will cycle through workspace, slide, and original positions.
  • If there is no workspace defined, it will look for the largest content placeholder of the current slide’s layout.

Distribute with resize vertically or horizontally (multi-click)

  1. Select the shapes you would like to distribute.
  2. Click on distribute with resize horizontally or distribute with resize vertically button.

Multi-click logic:

  • 1st click: distribute the selected shapes according to the default gap value.
  • 2nd click: distribute the selected shapes without a gap.
  • Further clicks will cycle through these steps.

  Note

  • The default gap can be managed in Tools Pane menu > Settings > Defaults.
  • Click on the arrows or type in a number to manually change the gap between the selected objects.
  • An offset of 0 will make the shapes touch and a negative offset will make the shapes overlap.

Stack your shapes (multi-click)

  1. Select the shapes you would like to stack.
  2. Click on stack horizontally or stack vertically button.

Multi-click logic:

  • 1st click: stack the selected shapes according to the default gap value.
  • 2nd click: stack the selected shapes without a gap.
  • Further clicks will cycle through these steps.

  Note

  • The default gap can be managed in Tools Pane menu > Settings > Defaults.

Unify your shapes

  1. Select the “parent shape” – which is the shape you would like the other ones to adjust to.
  2. Hold the shift key to select the other shapes.
  3. Click on Unify Shapes button.

  Note

The shapes will be unified according to the yellow handles used to modify the shapes.

Resize proportionally the size of the text and the size of the shape

  1. Select the shapes containing the text you would like to resize proportionally.
  2. Click on super size button.
  3. Resize the shapes.
  4. The text, margins, and outline weight will be resized proportionally.

Select similar shapes

  1. Select one or more shapes.
  2. Click on select similar button.
  3. All similar shapes on the slide will be selected.

  Note

  • If you select two shapes with different Fill Color attribute, then all similar shapes regardless of fill color will be selected.
  • If you select a group of shapes, then select similar will try to find similar groups that consist of the same auto shape type (rectangle, oval, etc.).
