About this article

In this article, we will explain how to use the Insert section of the Productivity tools. 

 

Insert a text box

  1. Click on the Insert text box button.
  2. Click on the desired location on your slide.
  3. A default text box will be added to your slide.

 

 
  • Note: the default text box is searched at the following places:

    1. A hidden shape in the Slide Master named TextBox.
    2. The body placeholder in the Slide Master.
    3. If nothing is found, the PowerPoint default will be inserted.

 

Insert a rectangle

  1. Click on the Insert rectangle button.
  2. Click on the desired location on your slide.
  3. A rectangle will be added to your slide.

 

Insert a rounded rectangle

  1. Click on the Insert rounded rectangle button.
  2. Click on the desired location on your slide.
  3. A rounded rectangle will be added to your slide.

 

Insert a flow (multi-click)

  1. Click on the Insert flow button.
    • 1st click: A pentagon will be added to your slide.
    • 2nd click: Add a chevron to the pentagon to create a flow - further click will add additional
    • Further clicks will add additional chevrons
  2. Change the shape type of the flow and the gap between its shapes with the callout that appears on top of the flow

 

Insert an arrow

  1. Click on the Insert arrow button.
  2. Click on the desired location on your slide.
  3. An arrow will be added to your slide.

 

Insert an oval

Oval.svg

  1. Click on the Insert oval button.
  2. Click on the desired location on your slide.
  3. An oval will be added to your slide.

 

Insert a line

Line.svg

  1. Click on the Insert line button.
  2. Click on the desired location on your slide.
  3. A line will be added to your slide.

 

Insert an elbow line

  1. Click on the Insert elbow line button.
  2. Click on the desired location on your slide.
  3. An elbow line will be added to your slide.

 

Insert a symbol

  1. Click on the Insert symbol button.
  2. Click on the desired symbol.
  3. The symbol will be added to your slide
    • If your cursor is within a textbox, the symbol will be inserted where your cursor is located.
    • If your cursor is not within a textbox, the symbol will be inserted in a new text box.

Insert a Harvey ball

  1. Click on the Harvey ball button.
  2. Select the desired Harvey ball.
  3. A Harvey ball will be inserted on your slide.
  4. Click on the arrows on the callout that appears on top of the Harvey ball to toggle the next/previous state and change its appearance.

 

Insert a placeholder

  1. Select the slide(s) where you want the placeholder to be inserted.
  2. Click on the placeholder button.
  3. Select the desired placeholder.
  4. The placeholder will be inserted on the slide(s).

 

Remove a placeholder

  1. Select the slide(s) where you want the placeholder to be removed.
  2. Click on the placeholder button.
  3. Select the placeholder you want to be removed from the slide(s).
  4. The placeholder will be removed from the slide(s).
