Configure questions in Custom Agents

Questions allow you to collect additional information from users before a Custom Agent generates its output. You can let the Agent determine which questions to ask or configure a predefined set of questions for users to answer.

Questions are available for Custom Agents.

Configure how questions are asked

In the Questions section of the Custom Agent configuration, you can choose between:

• AI: the Agent determines which questions to ask based on the user's request and the context available to it.
• Custom: you define the questions that will be presented to the user.

When Custom is selected, you can add and configure questions using four question types:

• Text allows the user to provide a free-text response.

• File upload allows the user to upload a file as additional context for the Agent.

• Single choice allows the user to select one answer from a predefined list.

• Multiple choice allows the user to select one or more answers from a predefined list.

How Custom questions are presented to users

All questions configured by an admin are presented to the user when the Custom Agent gathers the information it needs to generate an output.

By default, answering a configured question is optional. This means the user can continue without providing an answer.

Enable Answer is required when configuring a question to require the user to provide an answer before the Agent can continue.

Configure a Single choice question

Use a Single choice question when the user should select one answer from a predefined set of options.

To configure a Single choice question:

1. Select Single choice under Add question.
2. Enter the question you want to present to the user.
3. Optionally, enable Answer is required to require an answer before the Agent can continue.
4. Add the answer options available to the user. You can configure up to 10 options.
5. Optionally, enable Allow users to type their own answer to allow the user to provide an alternative answer instead of selecting one of the predefined options.
6. Select Add.

When answering the question, the user can select one of the available options or provide their own answer when this has been enabled.

Configure a Multiple choice question

Use a Multiple choice question when the user should be able to select several answers from a predefined set of options.

To configure a Multiple choice question:

1. Select Multiple choice under Add question.
2. Enter the question you want to present to the user.
3. Optionally, enable Answer is required to require an answer before the Agent can continue.
4. Add the answer options available to the user. You can configure up to 10 options.
5. Optionally, enable Allow users to type their own answer to allow the user to provide an additional answer.
6. Select Add.

When answering the question, the user can select multiple options and, when enabled, provide their own answer.
