Configure a File Question
File Questions allow you to configure a Custom Agent to request a specific file from an end-user. The uploaded file is used by the Agent as context when creating the document.
To configure a File Question:
- In the Admin Center, select AI Agents.
- Select the Custom Agent you want to configure.
- Navigate to the Questions section.
- Enter the name of the file you want the Agent to request, for example, Call transcript.
- Click Add.
- Select File question.
The File Question is now configured for the Custom Agent.
When the end-user interacts with the Agent, they are prompted to upload the file specified in the File Question.
How File Questions are used
The uploaded file is provided to the Agent as context when creating the document.
The Agent can use information from the uploaded file to determine what content should be included in the generated document. How information from the file is used in the document is determined by the Governed Fields configured in the relevant Layout Content Guides.
For example, you can configure a File Question called Call transcript for an Agent that creates a customer proposal. The end-user can upload the call transcript, allowing the Agent to use information from the transcript when creating the proposal.
File Questions can reduce the number of individual questions an Agent needs to ask an end-user to gather the context required for document creation.

The following file types are supported:
- DOCX.
- XLSX.
