Enable or disable active templates libraries

This article explains how to disable or enable the template libraries. Disabling a template Library will make it unavailable for the end-user but will remain accessible for the Admin. 

  Prerequisites

To enable or disable template libraries:

  1. Navigate to Library Configuration in Admin Center.
  2. Click on More options on the top right corner.
  3. Click on Settings:

  4. Check or uncheck a template library:
    LibraryConfigurationSettingsTemplateLibraries.png
    • Checking a template library will enable it
    • Unchecking a template library will disable it
  5. Click Save and close Settings.

  Note

  • Please note that disabling a template library will have the following effect:
    • The template library won't be visible in the Web App but will still be accessible in the Admin Center.
    • Distributing a blank template for the disabled template library will still be possible through Library configuration but won't have any effect until the template library is enabled.
    • The library buttons (New document/presentation/spreadsheet and Find a template in the File tab of Office won't be visible (VSTO add-in).
    • The library buttons (New document/presentation/spreadsheet and Find template) in the ribbon of the Home tab of Office won't be visible (automatic with the VSTO add-in, requires a specific manifest file for the web add-in).
    • The Find template button in the Library pane won't be visible (automatic with the VSTO add-in, requires a specific manifest file for the web add-in).
