How to use Google Workspace integration

With Templafy Google Workspace integration end-users can directly create and access Templafy templates and assets as well as save back documents from Office, Salesforce, and SharePoint, any other supported application directly back to Google Drive.

 

Prerequisites

 
  • This is an end-user guide, if you don't have Templafy available in Google Workspace, please contact your local Templafy IT Administrator.

 

Create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets in Google Workspace

With the Templafy integration to Google workspace, you will be able to create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets and save them back to Google. Creating templates will be accessible from

  • Google Chrome extension
  • Google Drive
  • Google Docs, Slides, Sheets
 
  • Templates created from Templafy will be created as Google files. 

 

Google Chrome extension

With the Google Chrome extension, you can open the Templafy to create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets from any webpage, save them back to your Google Drive destination folder and edit them directly. that you desire to continue working on the document there. 

  1. Click on the Templafy extension
  2. Select the desired Library
    • Templafy Docs will open the Documents Library
    • Templafy Slides will open the Presentations Library
    • Templafy Sheets will open the Spreadsheets Library
  3. Chose a file
  4. Click Save to Google Drive
  5. Select the correct folder 
  6. Click Save to FolderName
  7. Your document will be opened in Google and saved back to the chosen drive folder.

Google Drive

  1. Click on the Templafy button
  2. Select the desired Library
    • Templafy Docs will open the Documents Library
    • Templafy Slides will open the Presentations Library
    • Templafy Sheets will open the Spreadsheets Library
  3. Chose a file
  4. Click Save to Google Drive
  5. Select the correct folder
  6. Click Save to FolderName
  7. Your document will be opened in Google and saved back to the chosen drive folder.

Docs, Slides, and Sheets

  1. Click on New
  2. Chose a file
  3. Click Save to Google Drive
  4. Select the correct folder
  5. Click Save to FolderName
  6. Your document will be opened in Google and saved back to the chosen drive folder.

Start using the Templafy Library add-on to insert asset in Docs and Slides

Each user must finalize the configuration once the task pane once it is made available: giving consent on the usage of data and configuring the URL of the Templafy tenant of their organization. The URL should follow be like this: https://TENANTNAME.templafy.com/

Once the Library add-on configuration finalized, when working in Docs and Slides, you will be able to utilize text elements (Docs only), as well as Images and Content connectors (Docs and Slides) thanks to the Templafy Library add-on.  

  1. Click on Add-ons
  2. Click Templafy
  3. Click Open
  4. Place the cursor where you would like to insert the asset
  5. Click the asset in the Library pane

  • The Add-ons tab is only accessible when working with Google file format. Office files can be converted by clicking File > Save as Google Slides/Docs.

 

Save documents, presentations, and spreadsheets to Google Workspace

With the Templafy Google Workspace integration, you can save files back to Google from anywhere when utilizing the document creation flow or from Templafy Library.

Document creation flow

  1. Start the document creation flow
  2. Choose a file
  3. Click Other actions
  4. Click Save to Google Drive
  5. Select the correct folder
  6. Click Save to FolderName
  7. The file will be saved to the folder and you will be redirected to your file in Google

  • Files being saved to Google using the document creation flow will be saved as Google files.

 

Templafy Library

  1. Open the Library pane
  2. Click Save to...
  3. Click Save a copy to Google Drive
  4. Select the correct folder
  5. Click Save a copy to ...
    The file will be saved to the folder and ca be accessed by clicking the link

  • Files being saved to Google using the document creation flow will be saved as Office files.
