This article explains how to use Templafy in Microsoft Teams. As an end-user, you can directly find and create both static and dynamic documents, presentations, and spreadsheets stored in the Templafy Library directly within Microsoft Teams.
In addition, if the Library web add-in is distributed within the organization, the end-user can also utilize the Templafy task pane in Teams online when editing the document, presentation, or spreadsheet to locate and insert assets from the Templafy Library.

Using Copilot chat to search for templates
If your organization has Copilot available in your Teams application, you can use you Copilot chat to find relevant templates from Templafy to help you complete your work faster.

Creating a template from the tabs at the top of a Teams channel or a chat

In a Teams channel or in a chat, at the top of the channel, click on the tabs you previously set up.
You might need to Log in to access the relevant Template Library.
- Select the template you wish to create.
- Click Next and fill in the form if the template is dynamic.

Click on Save back to Teams
- The template will be opened inside Microsoft Teams in edit mode.
- A message containing the template will be sent in the chat/channel.

The file will be saved.
- Files that you upload to a channel are stored in your team's SharePoint folder. These files are available in the Files tab at the top of each channel.
- Files that you upload to a one-on-one or group chat are stored in your OneDrive for Business folder and are shared only with the people in that conversation. These are available in the Files tab at the top of a chat.
Creating a template from the extension in the chat box in a Teams channel or a chat
- In a Teams channel or in a chat, in the chat box, click on the + button, and select the Templafy extension.
- Click on the three dots menu to expand more options.
- Click Create document.
You might need to Log in to access the relevant Template Library.
- Select the template you wish to create .
- Click Next and fill in the form if the template is dynamic.
- Click on Save back to Teams. The template will be attached to a message.
- Send the message.
- A message containing the template will be sent in the chat/channel.
- The file will be saved.

Searching for a template from the extension in the chat box in a Teams channel or a chat

- In a Teams channel or in a chat, in the chat box, click on the + button, and select the Templafy extension
- Choose the type of template to search for by clicking on the Documents, Presentations, or Spreadsheets tab.
- Enter search term.
- Click on the search result you'd like to use.
- Send the template in a message.
- This template will now be linked in your channel or chat to be created with Templafy.
- Click Open next to the template that was sent to open Templafy and complete the document.
Inserting Templafy assets when editing documents and presentations in Teams Online
- In Teams Online, while editing a document or a presentation,
- Click on the Templafy Icon in the ribbon. The Library task pane will open.
- Browse and click on the desired asset to insert them into your document/presentation.
