Create new slides with Edit Agent

Edit Agent can add new slides to the presentation you currently have open in PowerPoint. It can insert approved Library slides or generate new slides using approved presentation layouts. It can also use uploaded files, images, or existing slide content as context for the new slide.

  Prerequisites

  • Edit Agent must be enabled for your organization and user account.
  • You must have access to the presentation where the new slide should be added.
  • To generate a new slide, you must have access to approved presentation layouts.
  • To insert an approved Library slide, you must have access to that Library content.

Use case

Use this when you need to add new material to an existing presentation, such as an executive summary, agenda, project timeline, customer story, or product overview.

Why this helps

Creating slides with Edit Agent saves time during drafting and helps users start from approved layouts instead of blank slides. This reduces rework and helps teams produce on-brand presentation material faster.

How to create a slide

  1. Open the presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Open Edit Agent in the Templafy task pane.
  3. Ask Edit Agent to add a slide.
    For example:
    • "Add a slide about the implementation timeline."
    • "Create three slides based on the attached project brief."
    • "Add a customer success story slide for the healthcare industry."
    • "Create a slide based on the structure in the uploaded sketch."
    • "Create a new slide using the content on this slide, but make it look more polished and on brand."
  4. Review any Library suggestions.
If Edit Agent finds a matching slide in the Templafy Library, it may show suggested slides. Select a suggestion to insert it, or continue if you want Edit Agent to create a new slide.
  5. Wait while Edit Agent creates and inserts the slide.
  6. Review the new slide in PowerPoint.
  7. Ask Edit Agent for follow-up changes if needed.

Tips

  • Include the audience and purpose of the slide.
  • Mention the type of slide you want, such as summary, timeline, comparison, or agenda.
  • Upload a file if the slide should be based on specific source material.
  • Upload an image if the slide should follow a rough structure, sketch, or screenshot.
  • Refer to an existing slide if the new slide should reuse content already in the presentation.
  • Review AI-generated content before using it externally.

  Important

If you do not have access to presentation layouts, Edit Agent cannot generate new slides. Contact your admin if you need access.
