Use uploaded files as context with Edit Agent

Edit Agent can use uploaded files as context when creating or editing slide content in PowerPoint. Uploaded document files can provide text context, and uploaded image files can provide visual context.

Use case

Use this when the information Edit Agent needs is in another document, such as a brief, proposal, report, spreadsheet, existing presentation, screenshot, or sketch.

Using uploaded files helps users turn existing business information into presentation content faster. It reduces copy-and-paste work and helps create slides that are based on the right source material.

Supported files

Supported file types include:

• .docx.
• .xlsx.
• .pptx.
• .pdf.
• .png.
• .jpg.
• .jpeg.
• .gif.
• .webp.

You can upload up to 3 files in a conversation. Each file can be up to 50 MB. Image files can be up to 10 MB.

How to use an uploaded file

1. Open the presentation in PowerPoint.
2. Open Edit Agent in the Templafy task pane.
3. Use the upload option to add the file.
4. Ask Edit Agent to use the uploaded file.
   For example:
   • "Create a slide summarizing the uploaded project brief."
   • "Update this table using the attached spreadsheet."
   • "Rewrite this slide based on the attached customer notes."
   • "Create a summary slide from the uploaded PDF."
   • "Use the uploaded sketch as the structure for a new slide."
5. Review the generated or edited slide.
6. Ask for follow-up changes if needed.

Tips

• Use source files that are clear and up to date.
• Mention which part of the file Edit Agent should focus on.
• For images, explain whether Edit Agent should use the image as structure, inspiration, or visual reference.
• Review the result against the source file when accuracy matters.
